​Jacob Speed graduated from Central High School in 2009 with high honors. He is the team leader of the Hops Baler group. He has worked for ABM Mechanical, Inc. for 2.5 years and is looking forward to becoming a full-time project manager for them when he graduates in August 2013. Jacob also owns his own mowing and landscaping business that he takes care of outside of working for ABM. He enjoys being outdoors, hunting, snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle, and spending time at camp. He is very pleased with the final design and outcome of the baler and is excited to take it to Aroostook Hops in Westfield very soon.




Matthew Gallagher

​​Matt graduated from Scarborough High School in 2008 with high honors. He spent three years playing for the Scarborough golf team and was the captain of the team his senior year. After graduating high school, Matt decided to go to the University of Maine to pursue a Mechanical Engineering degree. Matt joined the only local fraternity at the University of Maine, Phi Eta Kappa, and became actively involved in the Greek community. He took executive positions within the fraternity being both Treasurer and Vice President. Matt was able to maintain a 3.5 GPA throughout his college career and is a member of the mechanical engineering honor society, Pi Tau Sigma.


Lloyd Bryant

​​​Lloyd Bryant graduated from Orono High School in 2007 with high honors. He spent 4 years on the varsity baseball and basketball teams, where he was captain of each in his junior and senior years. After graduating high school, Lloyd enrolled in college at the University of Maine in Orono to pursue his dream of becoming an engineer. Lloyd has interned for multiple engineering firms, including working for two summers in Washington DC as an engineering intern for VSE Corp. His dream is to finish school with a degree in mechanical engineering.




Sam Ledue

​​​​Sam is originally from Southern Maine. His interest in the physical nature of things drives his ambition to become a mechanical engineer. He spends his free time outdoors, usually mountain biking or golfing. His background in mechanical engineering compliments his minor of Innovation Engineering as well as experience in process engineering, as an intern for an international retail supply chain, to help drive his passion for innovation and continuous improvement. He enjoyed tinkering with the capstone design project as well as solving a real problem, and plans to continue working on design projects in his future.


Nathan Rocker

​Nathan Rocker is a 4th year Mechanical Engineering student with 1-year left of his undergraduate degree. He loves to be outside especially when camping or hiking in Baxter State Park. He is very active, and loves to participate in various recreational activities. His passion is playing ice hockey. His dream is finish school to earn in degree in mechanical engineering.
